I was a born in but then left for years and came back and then I felt like convert. after awhile it just seems like everyone has there own life and little group to hang out with so trying to fit in is hard. I always wondered if thats how people on the outside that eventually come in feel. Also on a side note being in for a long time seems I saw a lot of bible studies held but very few actually come in and baptized!

Any born-ins have this attitude about converts?
by Nambo inso there was this great gang of us, from south london, manchester and wolverhampton, went to socialise with a group in fishguard in wales.. amongst the conversations one of the single sisters stated, "i could never marry anybody who used to be in the world".. i guess a lifetime of knocking on doors had given her the impression there couldnt possibly be a convert in her midst, never mind later alone with her in her mgb.. so whats with this, did you think we had rat scabies or were possesed by demons or something?.

"Suggested" Donation when attending Circuit Assembly
by BluesBrother ini could have called this "fee now charged to go to circuit assembly" but i do not want to start rumours that go beyond what was actually said.
the k hall announcement encouraged attendance at the upcoming assembly day.
the elder then said that since the congregation no longer has to make a blanket donation to the assembly hall it is expected that the publishers remember their responsibility to maintain the costs.

I remember 1 old timer elder saying if there was money problems then that cong was having serious apostate problems.
I remember also a few times suggestions of donations at assemblies. and 1 time at the kingdom hall we wrote how much on a piece of paper we thought we could donate each month no names mentioned just an amount.
I was very suprised to see the credit card/debit card machines. funny I also haven't heard anymore talks about getting into credit card dept.

when elders talk = crap ....
by Princess Ashe inelder informed me that i was not to talk to others why certain people were disfellowshipped.
huh?
i would think certain ones would want to know if he is a sex offender.

i heard witnessed a lot of stuff. no one is perfect. the whole jc meeting arrangment is the worst.
to much control.
when people put there true feelings aside and just blindly follow what is told to them.. i think that's what got to me the most.

i don't know where to start on a story.raised born in witness. father not a witness. parents never really talked to each other. very faithful jw growing up. started questioning things after high school while pioneering for a year. been off and on for years lurking.

i'm sure there is lots of sighing - Mc rubbermallet. haha
my friend's uncle was the sex offender, she told the elders - he was disfellowshipped/(just for 6 months) I looked him up online court docs listed registered sex offender (lewd or indecent proposals/Acts to child) it happened when she was very young it it took a long time before she said anything. on a side note I can't understand why his wife stuck by him had more children with him.
oh also pioneers seem to lack self control also when it comes to talking. I was out in service with the son of the sex offender I would say it hadn't been more than a month or two when the disfellowshipping had been publicly annouced the pioneer says to the son " man really sorry to hear about your dad."

compared oral sex to licking a toliet, during jc meeting.
well if you were at the meeting then you would not have committed that sin(meetings are there for our protection)
an elder getting worked up and telling everyone to get off the dance floor stop the music at a wedding because they were playing the YMCA song.

Facebook shunning...is there a new push?
by red21 inso, in the last two weeks, i have had 3 cousins drop me from fb and one childhood friend...all 4 of which we have had little association or face-to-face time in 30 years but at least we stayed in touch.

broken promise
"The kids also thought I was a lesbian because I couldn't show any interest in boys "
same here. it didn't help either that I was a little muscular for a girl. even the other witnesses questioned!!!
4th grade I colored a bunny for easter and it was hanging up in my class and my mom came to my class for a field trip and later at home she had to remind me of her dissappointment.
We had a thanksgiving lunch in 5th grade and a guy said prayer before the lunch and I was thinking uh? that sounds like prayers we say at the kingdom hall but that cant be right jws are the only ones that know how to do all that stuff.
getting christmas gifts from my friends in middle school and feeling like crap because I couldn't give anything back to them
my friend wanting me to sneak out to her sleepover birthday party but being to scared to...
sitting out during pep rallies in the office. I ended up going to a few and I saw an elders son there....
